Signing Up and Setting Preferences

When you first sign up, you'll be asked to share details about your fitness level, your background, and who you'd like to partner with for workouts. This information is crucial, because it forms the basis for your personalized recommendations to find your ideal workout partner.

You will find a description section that allows you to share your goals and preferences in a workout partner. In the emoji section, you can also express yourself and showcase your activity preferences. Be sure to add a profile photo to make it easier for your partner to learn about you and build trust. Having a friendly profile photo makes you more likely to find a workout partner and gartner trust.

Pro tip: Friendly pictures with smiles tend to get more matches! 📸😁

Personalized Workout Partner Recommendations

Once you’ve completed the sign-up, GymSpott uses our algorithm to offer you tailored recommendations. For instance, if a female only wants to workout with other females, GymSpott makes sure to recommend only females. Once your partner accepts your connection request, it’s off to the races!

Initial Chat and Privacy

Chat DMs are locked until your friend request is accepted. This ensures a comfortable atmosphere for all members of the community. Once you start chatting with your new workout partner, you can discuss fitness goals, preferred workouts and activities.

Activity Requests

You can send a workout request to your partner by clicking the “💪Workout” button on their profile screen, clicking the activity button ⚡️inside chat, or by clicking “➕Activity” in your Activities screen. You can choose your activity type, start and end time, and the visibility of the activity. If you want more people to join, it’s best to set your visibility to Public. You can then invite 1 or more people to join your activity. We have an added option to have an Activity only chat, where a chat is created when the activity is made and the messaging is closed 24 hours after the activity ends.

Feature highlight: Creating an Activity Only Chat is a great way to communicate with users you may not know. To enable it, enable Create Chat under Advanced Settings in your create or edit Activity screen.

Joining Activities

Not only can you create Activities and invite friends, but you can explore all the activities that your health club has to offer! In our Activities tab, you can discover classes, sports activities, workouts, dynamic stretches and everything in between! You can join a group or hop into an activity before anyone else and invite your friends.

The Flexibility of Activity Requests

Life is busy and sometimes unpredictable, which is why GymSpott has a feature that allows for easy rescheduling. If you need to change the timing of a planned workout, you can update this by editing an activity and everyone in the activity is notified. This flexibility ensures that you and your activity buddies can find times that work best for everyone.
